About the Arcade Plaza

Started in 1968, and opened in 1969.

The Arcade Plaza is a three-level office complex and mall combination with signature bricks, tiles, and a spiral staircase. The first retail shopping and business centre in Medicine Hat, this iconic location is found in the heart of Medicine Hat at the southeast corner of 4th Avenue and 3rd Street South in downtown Medicine Hat. Arcade Plaza is home to over 30 small & locally owned businesses & commercial tenants. This mall has been a cornerstone of this vibrant downtown community since construction started in 1968. The bricks used in Arcade Plazas' construction were manufactured locally by Medicine Hat Brick and Tile. Construction began in November 1968, and within a year, the local community embraced the new 'mall' by the fall of 1969.
